The store Avante Cottage crafts has been the family business of Mr. Ramesh K. Malani from 1950. Initially The emphasis was on wall hangings in jute, batik, embroidery and paintings on silk but with customer demand it expanded to include brass artifacts, wood craft, silver jewellery, tribal crafts like dhokra , hand embroidered and vegetable dye bedcovers, Kashmir crafts, shawls from Kashmir, Varanasi and Kutch.

Right now the store is a collection of Mr. and Mrs. Malani’s travels to craft centres all over India from wood inlay craft from Mysore to hand knotted carpets from Kashmir, Black pottery from Manipur and hand woven bedcovers from Kutch.

A monthly newsletter will be sent to all our members highlighting a particular craft every month along with special offers. We will also show the step by step process that goes into India’s wonderful craft tradition.
